G'day! Salam!
My name is Kylie, and I am the MCVPTM and LC Expansion for AIESEC Iran in 09/10. It's so exciting to be here in Tehran - it's a lot different from Australia that's for sure!
I'm 21 years old, and I didn't finish my university studies in International Studies :D Instead, because of AIESEC, I am studying to work in adult education.
I've been in AIESEC since 2006, I've worked as an ICX member, LCVPTM and LCP of my LC, University of South Australia.
I've been here in Tehran for almost a month so far, and it is a fantastic and crazy place! I can't wait to explore and see more of it! (I'm looking for tour guides!) I'm really looking forward to meeting all of you, to working and partying with you!

Supervisory Group Meeting

Member Committee Official Extension of AIESEC in Iran had a great meeting on 7th May with Mrs. Shirzad from Supervisory Group. AIESEC Iran presented its Business Plan and also Strategy Map and AIESEC 2010 Goals. We discussed about how can we be more relevant and successful in the year to come and how can we find some new strategies to increase our exchange and find sustainable source of revenue. Gesa Dörr, President AIESEC in Germany was also in the meeting. She talked about history of expansion in Iran and how AIESEC in Germany supported Iran so far and how will be the cooperation in the year to come. The next Supervisory Group Meeting will be held on Wednesday 3rd June with two other new Supervisory Group Members.

German MC Visit

5th May 2009 Gesa Dörr, current President AIESEC in Germany and MC responsible for expansion in Iran came to Tehran. She had one-week stay in Tehran in order to gain better insight about the reality of expansion in Iran and get to know more about the culture and of course local members. She did also some training for LC Tehran. Best wishes for legendary expansion and Partner Country!

The First Supervisory Group Member of AIESEC in Iran

After the meeting we had with Mrs. Shirzad Managing Director of Atieh Borna Negar HR Consultancy in January she has accepted to be our first SG member. She already singed the contract on 14 February but as we were in IPM in Italy we could not schedule next meeting in February, any way finally at the end of the year we made it happened.
Now my pleasure and honor to welcome Mrs. Sara Shirzad on SG Board of Official Extension of AIESEC in Iran.

HAPPY NEW YEAR & HAPPY BIRTHDAY AIESEC IRAN

I can say it was exactly the same days just 2 years ago when the first team from Germany came to Iran to build the innitiative group of AIESEC Iran. I still am remebering the first Info Session I took part in and all the wishes and hopes the first team had to shape AIESEC in Iran.

None of the efforts that have been put can be forgotten and none of the memories so. Not long after becomming Official Extension, forming an LC, all the meeting with stakeholders that happened or before,.... and all of these till the first MC was settled down, the first exchange realized, the first Career Fair took place, the Firts National Congress happened, we bacame registered, and so many other great happening.

Now AIESEC Iran is stepping into its third year and by honoring the past we want to inspire the future, and Wish you all a great HAPPY NEW YEAR, with alot of best wishes to come through, and wish AIESEC Iran a flourishing HAPPY NEW YEAR and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

A unique Experience

The opportunity to facilitate at the first national congress of AIESEC inIran was a unique experience for us. We moderated the X-track and weretruly impressed by the motivation, the knowledge and the criticalquestions of our delegates. We hope that we were able to enhance and tosupport the development of all the delegates by referring to ourexperience and our international perspectives.
It was unexpected and really impressing to see how eager you guys wereaiming for new knowledge, how you were soaking up new ideas and perspectives while reflecting on old ways.
The experience of having a conference in the desert, of sleeping in housesmade out of clay and even the experience of drinking tea at a “party”will be special and unforgettable for us.
After the congress we had the chance (thanks to Alireza and Saman) to go ona trip to the south of Iran to see more of your beautiful country, theIranian nature and especially to discover the Iranian culture a little bit more.
We will never forget your friendliness, kindness and hospitality. We hadsome very exciting, intensive and amazing days in Iran, which we will always remember. They were just way too short. :-)

When we compare time to time of last years to this year in AIESEC in Iran, the large relative growth shows our strong determination to be a legendary expansion.

Developing an effective structure as a first priority in this term helped us to fulfill most of the membership criteria and we are almost ready to be full member in International Congress 2009 in Malaysia. Excelling in membership quality and ensuring the sustainability of our core activities give us a bright future perspective.

As we put AIESEC Iran is the first choice for the stakeholders as our marketing and positioning strategies, companies now recognize AIESEC as the best talent source and students see AIESEC can provide a life changing experience for them.

AIESEC Local Committee Tehran is established and new generation is going to run the local executive board from March 2009. Although Member Committee is still in Tehran, we are going to expand our presence in other Cities and Universities to attract more potential students and partners and make more life changing AIESEC experience.

It was everything about seven months excelling our action to impact lives to make glory of AIESEC in Iran and now I can proudly tell you that AIESEC Iran is continuing it’s rocking as a legal entity.

Now AIESEC in Iran is registered as a non-for profit Institution and it could have an independent bank account. As we are legal entity we can establish long-term partnership with all the companies and also expanding our activities in universities. In case we can be registered as a NGO in ministry of Interior or we can have any support and permission from Ministry of Labor and Social Affairs we can simply change and develop our entity.

Compendium is legislated in last NLM and translation is going to be finalized before June 09. Any change in compendium is going to legislate in next NLM in National Leadership Development Seminar at the end of June 09.

Doing my internship program in the Global Marketing Industrial Services department at SGS Germany GmbH in Hamburg has been one of the unforgettable experiences I have ever had in my life. The most exciting part about my internship has been communicating with managers from different countries; besides, I learnt more about taking part in professional meetings and organizing events.

Beside work experiences, living in Hamburg and dealing with people with different culture let me acquire more experiences. Furthermore, spending my free times on travelling to other cities and also playing music with other students in Hamburg brought memorable moments for me and made my travel to Germany one of the memorable ones.

I am Saman Azizi 23 years old, graduated in field of power electrical engineering. Since 2006 I have had the experience of working professionally in tourism industry as an international tour guide.
My AIESEC journey started in March 2008 right after my joining I applied for incoming exchange team in local committee of AIESEC Tehran. TN matching was my first real responsibility in AIESEC but after not that much long I just jumped to the best stage ever in my AIESEC XP. I assigned to be the Team Leader of Incoming exchange. Leading a team under common vision of an organization developed my skills in team work and team management and shaped my characteristic as a result oriented person.
Leading entire organization in a country for a year is just lots of challenges beside so many awesome experiences which I ran for it. Member Committee President of official extension of AIESEC Iran in year 2009/2010 is another chance to put all my efforts with lots of passion and motivation to rock the legendary expansion in the world.

The First National Congress of Official Extension of AIESEC in Iran

31st December-2nd January 2009, AIESEC in Iran hosted its first National congress in Kharanaq, Yazd. Thanks to the great Facilitator team from Germany and Poland. And thanks to the great organization team and all their efforts in past 3 months to bring these special time for AIESEC in Iran.

First AIESEC International Visit from Official Extension AIESEC in Iran

December 2008, was the month full of different events! One of the best was the first visit of AI from the extension AIESEC in Iran. Annika Rudback, MENA GN Director, paid her visit in the mid December. She spent 10 days in AIESEC in Iran while had several meetings with Member Committee and some potential members.

AIESEC presentation on E-Learning Confrence & Corporate Governance Workshop

In the past few weeks, we had the chance to attend two important events, the E-Learning Conferences and The Corporate Governance Workshop for networking and presenting AIESEC. In the E-learning Conference, we had a booth in which our AIESEC members presented AIESEC, its values and the possible way of cooperation for managers who have attended the event.

First Exchange on THC (Tehran Hamburg Cooperation)

On September 2008, while AIESEC Iran hosted one CEEDer from AIESEC Hamburg a new cooperation between AIESEC Tehran and Hamburg was established. This cooperation aimed to connect the two LCs in term of exchange of knowledge and internship.
On December 2008, the first Exchange in term of internship was realized! Congratulation to Sina Farahmand, who is now spending his 4 month internship in SGS Hamburg.

Gulf Conference, Doha-Qatar

4 members and I went to the Gulf Conference in Doha, Qatar. It was one of the most exciting conferences happening in the MENA region, and our delegation in that conference has totally rocked the region! AIESEC Iran has never had this exposure and passion from other AIESEC countries, I want to especially thank Marjan, Saber, Nahid and Samira for being so awesome on promoting Iran, linking Iran into the MENA network and also being such a active learner! I hope everyone in the future would have the same opportunity as we did and it will not be that far away! MENA XLDS is on the way; now let’s start saving some money and we’ll all apply to go J

Official Extension AIESEC in Iran

Nalds 2008, Germany, LC Hamburg

I was a delegate at the conference, I went there by a train, had about 1/5 hours late , didn’t know if there is somebody there to pick me up or not!! But I wasn’t the only person who missed the train, so there were two people from the OC to pick us at the train station!
I missed some part of the opening plenary but at the end there was a great applause for Iran roll call because Iran is a strange country for them and they were so happy to have Iranian delegates between them to ask many questions from them!!
First night, Global village: about 20 different tables, from all part of the world, with their souvenir, their culture, their costumes and …
Lots of energy, lots of fun, and a great opportunity to present the country and know the people who you want to spend a week with them.
Second day, outdoor day: lots of exercises to made you to become a team, to know why you are at Nalds, and what you want from it.
Second night, chill out: a great chance to share your idea with different people, to ask for their ideas and try to learn from them.
Third night, official dinner: Fun!!!
Other days: continue your goals of coming, why you are at Nalds? What you want from your life? What is your vision? What are your goals? What was your river of life and where do you want to lead your river in the future? ...
The last day: closing plenary, different emotions, some people were crying and some were laughing but the most important thing is: THE JOURNEY IS THE REWARD

First National Career Fair in Iran hosted by AIESEC

In early November AIESEC in Iran was proud to hold the first National Career Fair in Iran, in cooperation with Faculty of Entrepreneurship of University of Tehran.
It was held in Student Union of University of Tehran with the aim of creating a cooperation platform between students and recent graduates of the universities with the business world over job market in Iran.
The companies and institutes which attended AIESEC Career Fair were: Unilever Iran, Nestle Iran, Iran Khodr as our Platinium Sponsors, Ertebat Tasvir Eshareh(Daarvag) as our Golgen Sponsor and AtiehBorna Negar, Henkel Pakvash, Madavi(Hilti), Radman Consulting Group, MAF Pars HyperMarkets (Carrefour), Ertebat Tasvir Eshareh(Daarvag), Pardis honarHaye ziba, and Entrepreneurship Faculty of Tehran University, Creativity.ir
Along to the Career Fair, there were numerous educational workshops with related topics organized free of charge for all visitors.
In conclusion, I have to mention the AIESEC Career Fair 2008, was one of the greatest events held by AIESEC, and it can be a start for AIESEC in Iran in the path of Growing & Developing!

Why no Updates?!?

It have been long time that this blog have not been updated, thanks alot to those reader that send us comment so we remembered to update this blog also regularly!
But not updating this blog do not mean nothing interesting have been happening, while on the hand hand it means that we have been too busy with all the new events and all the new challanges that we have forgot about update on this blog. So the following posts are brief summary of all the events going on in AIESEC Iran! and all the progress in AIESEC Iran, so enjoy it!

GLORY SUMMER

When I review the moments we have experienced during this summer in comparison with last summer I see the long road we have passed through one year successfully and absolutely growth. But why this summer fascinated me and which elements made my summer unique, it was the diverse atmosphere we have created together and our strong belief in impact lives with exchange.
It was my pleasure to get to know new friends form six different countries in this summer and the great chance we had to introduce them our hometown, our culture and ancient country in the heart of Middle East.
All disappointments, bitter and sweet moments, hard efforts for realizing internships, unforgettable pick ups after midnight in airport, all nice evenings we were together with all interns at the beautiful purple orange sunset of Tehran, sharing normal routine leaving style of here with them, sometimes the especial feedbacks and reactions we received from them and all the memories and great moments of this summer with interns in Tehran made Summer 2008 glory summer, which proved us power of exchange. Glory summer made us feel proud of our great extension!

Germany MC CEED

Expectations and reality:
Before I went to Germany I thought that Germany is country with lots of nice and modern building and people are so serious but now I know they don’t have modern building but a beautiful country. And of course people are respectful and very punctual but not so serious and rigid!
What did I learned:
My CEED was a great opportunity to know and understand AIESEC and its values and the idea of the people are in AIESEC; and the atmosphere of AIESEC international was really nice and super interesting for me.
What was the impact?
As a CEEDer the most impact was from German culture. It’s really different to work with German culture or a tourist that only visiting; and the most highlight point is their honesty and punctuality .

And at the end like to say that going to a CEED is a great opportunity to discover and develop their potentials and gain lots of great experiences so be careful not lose it.

CEED in Iran

When I told my family and my friends about my decision to spend 6 weeks in Iran to work for AIESEC, they were both surprised and confused. In Germany, this is quite a decision to make. Discussing this decision with my fellows from AIESEC was a little different. In AIESEC it is not such a big deal to do unusual things. But let us get straight to the point. Right now I am sitting in a Taxi, trying to get my way through the crowded, hot and smoggy Teheran. 3 of my 6 weeks are past already. What I do here can be described in one sentence: Training workshops and coaching the members of the OE Iran to improve eXchange. What I experienced so far can fill a book. In AIESEC we talk a lot about working in an international environment, but before I came to Iran, I had no clue what this really means. Do I have now? I do not know. But I experienced what ‘s ecnereffid larutluc’ means. Just write down every rule you have in your home country, mix them up, put them in a complete new order and finally throw them away. Every day is an adventure, every day is a challenge. And I am so thankful for that. It is not only the feeling to do something that matter, something which has a positive impact on society. I am thankful for every moment of pleasure, I am thankful for every moment of pain, I am thankful for every moment of this life changing eXperience. I can only recommend to come to Iran and to feel how exciting life can be.

Responsible youth Sustainable Future

When we start to present AIESEC for Company CEOs, students, professors and sometimes our family or our friends we never forget to talk about AIESEC conferences, the most interesting and valuable part of our AIESEC XP. Every year more than 500 students have opportunity to experience most amazing and the biggest and important AIESEC Conference, which is IC, International Congress. This year we had also this chance to go to Latin America for attending IC 2008 in Sao Paulo.
Every conference has especial objectives and also especial message for its delegates. This year we gathered together to talk about sustainability and our roles as socially responsible young’s and also future leaders.
We try also to ensure the sustainability of our core activities because we believe that one sustainable AIESEC in Iran can have very important role in the sustainability of future.
For sure sustainability is the issue we should consider in all of our activities not only this year as AIESECers but also always because we are AIESECers for our lifetime.
So what is your role as a socially responsible AIESECers to make sustainable future? And when and how you want to have sustainable impact in your society?

Official Extension AIESEC in Iran never forgets its founder

Oral tradition is valued in many cultures in transmitting legends through time. In AIESEC as in other families stories of the great fathers are passed down to the next generations.

Official Extension of AIESEC to I. R. Iran is going to experience it's glory moments in summer 2008, the first summer we will host the first interns, the first summer we have exchange and the first summer we celebrate our growth, the growth which is deeply indebted to pioneer generation of Building AIESEC in Iran and especially great effort of whom coordinated and leaded the movement and ambition to build new ideas. Who made many sacrifices and had incredible endless commitment to build AIESEC in Iran. We know him and at the moment we remember all the seconds which we spend together with him to build an organization from nothing except hope and commitment we had.
We made it happened and we continue the way, activating leadership through youth generations. The way we have been started with him and although he is not here with us but AIESEC in Iran never ever forget it's founder. We wish all the best and lots of luck for him and we promise to continue his way and making AIESEC in Iran the bets for ever.

First Exchanges and a good bye

The summer holidays are approaching at a rapid pace but AIESEC in Iran is keeping pace! The first internships in Unilever Iran, the Entrepreneurship Faculty and Bavar NGO have been matched. One more Unilever Management Internship  and one Technical Internship in an engineering company are available. 

Talking about available there are also 12 amazing Exchange Participants that want to be the first generation of AIESEC inters from Iran. They have backgrounds of Entrepreneurship, Business Administration, Marketing and Language Teaching. Jonas has gone back to Germany. So it was time to say goodbye to all dear friends and settle for finishing University. But soon Rainbow will come as the next Extension Coordinator.

It is time for official extension of AIESEC to I.R. Iran to start its exchange activities. This summer we want to have 3 Interns in Iran and send 3 Iranian students for an international internship. The first available intern is Maziar Ebrahimi. He has been with project and provided leadership from the beginning while pursueing his MBA. Now it is time for him  to gather an exchange experience. After opening up application for a second time we received some good applications and it was actually not easy to make the decision because of this. We want to thank all applicants and interested people who asked us lots of good questions. We are proud to announce that we selected Rainbow Cheung from AIESEC in Canada! But let us give her the chance to introduce.

Hi everyone!

My name is Rainbow Cheung and I'm going to be the extension coordinator for AIESEC in Iran for the year 2008-09! I'm extremely excited coming into this role and I can't wait to meet you all!

A little introduction about myself. I am originally from Hong Kong and currenty at the University of Western Ontario in Canada. I lived in Hong Kong y whole life before coming to Canada for my university education. I habe been to 91 cities in 22 countries ( as far as I remember) due to my parents' interest in traveling the world. I have also traveled acrosss Canada because of AIESEC Canada's conferences.

Speaking of which, I started my AIESEC expereience in September 2005 when I first got into my university. My friend in Hong Kong introduced me into AIESEC and I totally fell in love with it! Since then, I came into a couple of different roles and participated a variety of national and international conferences. The energy and inspiration I get out of AIESEC has been then main push that keeps me doing AIESEC work everyday. The challenges, friendship, fulfillment that I gained have been tremendous and I believe I will continue to develeop in AIESEC Iran and MENA GN!

During the time Alireza and Jonas were on IPM some new developments took place at University of Tehran which resulted in the fact that we lost the support of UT for our Norouz Conference. This was quite hard for all of us as we had invested a lot time and effort and were really looking forward to the first AIESEC Conference in Iran. But there wasn't much to do about it, so we had to cancel the Conference.

At that time we were not even sure what this exactly means for our future relation with the University. Was it just too much to ask at this stage or were they not interested anymore in AIESEC?

But shortly after this the new President of University of Tehran Dr. Rahbar visited us at our office and asked about our acitivities and successes. As we told him that we have 170 members so far he recommended us to increase the number and fulfill our potential better by recruiting 170 new members.

This of course was a new challenge, but a very positive one. We had to define what activities we would run for this amount of people and how to manage them and do a massive and well targeted market. But in the end it came to be a great success and we did receive 184 applications for membership. For them we will offer some workshops around management topics and learning issues, the possibility to apply for Exchange Programme and the possibility for applying for a job role in AIESEC.

International Presidents Meeting

International Presidents Meeting

In February Alireza Shahbaghi (MCP elect then, now MCP current) and Jonas Lilienthal (Extension Coordinator) attended International Presidents Meeting in Macedonia. During this meeting the President of AIESEC International for the term 2008-09 was elected and his team of Growth Network Directors and Vice Presidents selected. At the same time the Global Strategy including the Global Focus Areas and the plan for Middle East and Northen Africa Growth Network were legislated. Finally it was a great opportunity to get education around AIESEC management and networking with the 100 members countries.

It was a great experience for both of us to be able to connect with people from all around the world, get to know them and their AIESEC committees and establish cooperations. AIESEC is a truely Global Network!

MCP elected!

Official extension of AIESEC in I.R. Iran has elected it's Member Committee President. Alireza Shahbaghi, one of the people who helped to organize the workshops during Norouz 07, has been elected by 13 votes for and 1 abstention. Congratulations and a lot of energy and passion for your next term, Alireza.

Nouruz 87, 26th - 29th of March

Just after Nouruz we will have the first national conference of AIESEC in Iran. There will be Workshops for the AIESEC subsystems and project management. MC visit from Nadine

From February 24th to 30th Nadine Weise, MCVPFIN of AIESEC in Germany and our contact person for extension will come to Iran. Arriving in snowy Tehran

I am back in Tehran. Good to be here again. The first days were quite intense with preparations and project planning for a first annual report, Nouruz87 conference, the next recruitment and more. After coming back from his CEED in Hamburg, Germany, Alireza , a.k.a Aliraiser, has spread a lot of motivation and kicked off these projects. There has been the rumour that he will run for MCP in the upcoming election. Psst! :)

There has been some nice snow and cold weather in Tehran. Because of this combined with some gas distribution difficulties all official buildings were closed for a week at least and exams have been postponed.

HAPPY NEW YEAR and the Snow in Tehran

As the New Year 2008 started we had the first snow in Tehran. Now the city is colored in lovely white snow.

I always remember the night stories of my Grandmother telling about the winter sleep of all animals and trees. As she said:”The winter was there and the brown bear went to his cave to rest all the winter to start his lively life again in spring”. So as most of us do remember in winter all the living beings go to sleep.

But for AIESEC in Iran is the opposite situation. As the winter has started once again the team has waked up. So highly motivated and ready to GO! The efforts which have been take during this month was lot of success and remember all, it was you who made it happen. Thanks to you all.

External relations trainer in February

Saba Imtiaz, originally from Pakistan, now MCVPER of Official Extension of AIESEC in Jordan, will come to train external relations in to Iranian AIESECers this February. We are very happy to work together with her. We want to say thank you to all the applicants for their will to contribute to the success of AIESEC in Iran and the time they put on the application!

Striving for Excellence

Official extension of AIESEC in I.R. Iran is moving forward a lot lately. I am seeing with joy and pride from the distant Germany, where I spend Christmas and new Years. There has been a very successful appointment with Iran Air about sponsoring AIESEC in I.R. Iran, especially with flights for IC and IPM, but also for internetships and learning. Thanks to Samira, Alireza and Saber. Also finally there has been the first meeting of the Committee University of Tehran has established to register AIESEC in Iran and fix the cooperation details. We are on high ranking Agenda mainly thanks to the efforts of Mr. Chitsaz, Dr. Razavi and the good counsel of Dr. Shekarchizade. Maziar has done a great job in representing AIESEC in this meeting and getting the most out of this. Farzaneh will be OCP of our first Annual report and Alireza spreads a lot of motivation he gained from his CEED and all of the members bring great effort in there task. Most remarkable is that all these great things happen during exam time! Way to go AIESEC in Iran!

VP Coaching finally

A long time ago I said part of my role in Iran would be to coach the MCVPs to pass on knowledge to them. After a long time we spend on distributing task and roles finally it is time to do that. At the first meeting we met to define goals and actions for the term. I am very glad as the meetings were fast and useful.

CEED experience in beautiful city Hamburg

Großartig, great, very interesting.
Now I am an AIESECer and I have a special CEED experience in Local Committee Hamburg. These days I’m working in Germany as a CEEDer from Iran from AIESEC I. R. IRAN.

Do you know, what CEED is?

CEED is abbreviation of cultural envoy exchange development and I am Alireza Shahbaghi 22 a CEEDer from Iran. I have finished my Studies as a bachelor of applied chemistry in K.N.Toosi university of Technology in Tehran. I have been starting to work with Building AIESEC Iran project since September 2006 and now I work in External Relations team.
On Friday 2.11.07 I arrived in Hamburg. After weekend and really hospitable Welcome Party I started to work in LC Hamburg.
After one month I had very interesting moments and experiences in Hamburg with other AIESECers from other countries.
Now I am here in Germany, because I want to raise some internship opportunity for other Iranian students in AIESEC I. R. Iran. Every day working in LC Hamburg and trying to learn more about AIESEC culture and German culture and at the weekends AIESEC events and getting to know more about the situation of other students from other countries. It is very interesting.
I had very especial experience in one of the regional AIESEC Germany conference, ORKAN. I worked as a OC member (Organization Committee). I could learn very important thing about organization of one AIESEC conference and I hope, that I can share my experiences in our member committee.

AIESEC is something, that everybody should experience it and feel the best moments of life.
